About the Tariff Reform Coalition

The NFTC leads the Tariff Reform Coalition (TRC), a broad-based alliance of trade associations representing the many U.S. manufacturers, exporters, retailers, agricultural and food producers and other supply chain stakeholders adversely affected by the Section 232 and Section 301 tariffs imposed during the Trump Administration.

Coalition priorities include:

  1. Tariff Removal: Advocating for the removal of the Section 232 tariffs and quotas on steel and aluminum and Section 301 tariffs on imports from China;
  2. Tariff Watch: Monitoring future efforts by the Administration to use national security authorities to affect trade, including through the development of a global green steel and/or aluminum arrangement as well as new controls on foreign investments in critical technologies;
  3. Exclusion Process: Supporting the reinstatement of an efficient exclusion process; and
  4. Legislative Reform: Advocating for legislative reform to reassert congressional authority over Section 232 of the Trade Expansion Act of 1962.
