WTO Issues
The National Foreign Trade Council (NFTC) believes that the Doha Round of World Trade Organization (WTO) negotiations, is central to enhancing world economic growth, liberalizing trade and removing barriers to an open, rules-based international trading system. Since the negotiations began seven years ago, the NFTC has been committed to an ambitious and successful conclusion to the Round.

The NFTC leads U.S. business community efforts on the Round through its WTO Project, WTO Working Group and its counsel in Geneva. The WTO Working Group, comprised of U.S. business leaders, makes regular trips to Geneva to monitor progress and advance U.S. business interests for an ambitious outcome on goods, services and agriculture. In addition, the NFTC provides thought leadership on WTO-related issues through the seminars and symposia the association hosts in Geneva.
