SAGIA serves a unique role, going far beyond the typical national investment promotion and facilitation agency, spearheading very specific policy reforms in the Kingdom to open Saudi Arabia to foreign investment and position the country in the top ten most competitive nations by 2010. Dr. Al Awwad also chairs the Saudi negotiating team for bilateral investment treaties and is the acting leader of the Saudi team responsible for WTO dispute resolution.

Dr. Al Awwad will discuss Saudi Arabia”s current investment climate, policy priorities in integrating the Kingdom more fully into the global economy and would like to hear first hand from U.S business on issues affecting the commercial relationship.
