Ninth NFTC Policy Conference Call, Topic: International Business Travel in an Era of Heightened Security

Date: 4/8/03

NINTH NFTC POLICY CONFERENCE CALL APRIL 8

The next NFTC policy conference call will discuss International Business Travel in an Era of Heightened Security. International business travelers are under more intense scrutiny than ever before. Employees who have never had a problem obtaining a visa are now being denied or severely delayed in their travels causing disruptions and confusion for employers. Learn what”s behind these delays, what types of background checks and scrutiny your employees should plan for and how the new Department of Homeland Security, the war, and the possibility of Code Red may impact travel. Lynn Shotwell, Legal Counsel and Director of Govt. Relations, American Council on International Personnel, will make the initial presentation. As many of you know, the NFTC has also been deeply involved in this issue as well, focusing on the growing number of our members who have been unable to get buyers, potential customers, and their own employees into the U.S. Following the presentation, we will go to Q&A and discussion.

THE CONFERENCE CALL IS SCHEDULED FOR TUESDAY, APRIL 8, AT 2:00 PM (EST)

As with the previous calls, if you want to participate, all you need to do is respond to this email indicating your interest, and a day beforehand we will send you the phone number and participant code you need to access the call. If you are not the person in your company that deals with these issues, please pass this note along to those who do. Anyone from a member company can participate, and you are not limited to one person. All we need is an email from whoever wants to join the call. Our experience from previous calls suggests that to avoid any confusion it is best for each person who wants to participate to email us directly in response to this note. Sending two or three names in one message creates opportunities to inadvertently drop one.
