NFTC and USCIB Discussion with State Department and Treasury officials on Climate Finance and Technology – Washington, DC

Date: 3/30/11

Please join USCIB and NFTC on Wednesday, March 30 at 3:00pm for a meeting with Drew Nelson and Paul Bodnar of the U.S. State Department and Beth Urbanas of the Treasury Department to discuss emerging issues surrounding climate finance and the technology mechanism agreed to under the U.N.
Framework Convention on Climate Change (UNFCCC). The meeting will be held at NFTC’s offices, 1625 K Street NW Suite 200.

This is an opportunity to hear from Paul and Beth about emerging issues surrounding climate finance, including the green climate fund and mechanisms to enable quick start-financing and long term funding, which will be discussed throughout the year under the auspices of the UNFCCC. It is also a chance to have a follow up conversation with Drew, who will provide an update and is interested in hearing feedback in advance of the next session of the UNFCCC in Bangkok the week of April 4. Drew will provide details — and would welcome your input on — the technology workshop that the UNFCCC has scheduled in Bangkok from April 4-5 aimed at establishing structures and rules for how the technology mechanism that was agreed to last year in Cancun would operate.
