11:00am – 11:45am EST

Baker & McKenzie’s U.S. Homeland Security Practice, Congressional Quarterly Inc., and the National Foreign Trade Council are proud to announce a series of Webinars on homeland security legal issues. Discussions will cover topics related to Homeland Security issues relevant to companies and how they conduct business.

Counterfeit trade is now estimated to exceed $450 billion dollars at an annual growth rate of roughly eight percent.  While counterfeit trade in consumer goods continues to grow, this illegal trade has expanded into pharmaceuticals, medical devices, aircraft and automobile parts, and  numerous other areas of particular concern. A portion of this widespread illegal trade has been directly traced to the financing of activities of some of the most notorious terrorist organizations.  The security, safety and financial implications of these activities place the elimination of counterfeit and other illegal imports high on the priority list for import enforcement activities.
