The Global Business Dialogue and the National Foreign Trade Council are very pleased to announce that The Rt. Hon. Patricia Hewitt, the UK”s Secretary of State for Trade and Industry, will kick off their third joint series on WTO issues with a

luncheon address on Wednesday, April 21.

Ms. Hewitt has been a strong champion for a successful conclusion to the Doha Development Agenda since it was launched in November 2001.  Before the 2003 Canc√∫n Ministerial, Ms. Hewitt said, “It is time for political leaders from all countries to prove this really is a development round.  We need to show big ambitions if we want to show big results.‚Äù  Arguably, the WTO”s task is more urgent today.  On April 21, Ms. Hewitt will talk about what is at stake and what needs to be done in Geneva and in capitals between now and WTO General Council meeting at the end of July.

Prices: $70 general admission; $55 for NFTC members.  GBD members are prepaid for this event, and there is no charge for press. U.S. Government staff are welcome at the special government rate of $40.00
