Board of Directors Meeting – Secretary of Commerce, Carlos Gutierrez Guest Speaker
Board Meeting–Tuesday March 8, 2005 8:30-12:15 at EDS, 1331 Pennsylvania Avenue, Ste 1300, Washington, DC 202 637-6751. No lunch planned although glad to host our out-of-town members.
We are pleased to let you know that the Secretary of Commerce, Carlos Gutierrez, will join our Board meeting on March 8. Secretary Gutierrez will come by at the conclusion of our business meeting at 11:30 am, which means the meeting may last a bit later than noon. The Secretary has taken on responsibility in the Administration for helping to get CAFTA through the Congress, and I”m sure he will want to talk about that, but it will also be an excellent opportunity for you to meet him and to raise other issues with him. As you know, Secretary Gutierrez was appointed to succeed Don Evans and was sworn in only a few weeks ago. He was formerly CEO of the Kellogg Company. It is a real honor for us to have the Secretary join our meeting, and I hope we will have a large attendance to welcome him.
